Results
Senior A
Killarney Athletic 4 St Brendan’s Park 1
A great result for our senior A team beating the park 4-1 in the league putting us back on track for a league final place. Shane Bunyan got a hat trick with Martin Crowley scoring also and well done to Rafa in goal. A fantastic team performance.
Youth League Result
Killarney Athletic 3 Tralee Dynamos 2
Great three points on the road for our Youth team. Two well dispatched goals from Dan O'Sullivan and a 25 yard cracker from Danny Healy with 5 mins remaining to seal the three points. Overall a great team performance and work ethic shown today by the lads. Man of the Match Danny Healy.
Under 13 League
Killarney Athletic 3 Killarney Celtic 1
Athletic kept the pressure on the league leaders with this fine home win last Saturday. Playing their first game in 10 weeks the long layoff really didn't show as Athletic raced into an early lead when Finbarr Hickey netted after good work down the left wing by Rory O’Keeffe. The same player blazed over the bar when a certain goal looked on before Celtic equalized to leave the scores tied at the break. Athletic upped the pace in the second half and the midfield quartet started to gain the upper hand which led to a lot of chances one of which was taken by that man Rory O’Keeffe. Athletic now had their tails up and continued to drive forward, and when Kieran Thompson was introduced the speedy winger put Athletic 2 goals ahead with only his second touch of the ball. Athletic nearly made it 4 when Hickey's shot came back off the post. Athletic keeper Johnathon Mee made some fine saves at vital times and right back Jonathon Greene had an excellent game. Overall a great team performance with great team spirit.
Condolences: Sincere Sympathy to Don O’Donoghue, the Spillane family and extended O’Donoghue family on the recent death of his sister Helena Spillane.
